Error Handling - Drawing Page Size Larger than A2¶
Drawing Page Size¶
WERK24 currently supports drawings up to the size of A2. If the submitted drawing is larger than A2, it will raise an exception and the drawing will not be processed.
Understanding DIN Paper Sizes¶
DIN paper sizes are standardized in the ISO 216 format, widely used outside of North America, especially in Europe. These sizes follow a simple logic: A0 is the largest, and each subsequent size (A1, A2, A3, etc.) is half the size of the previous one when folded along the longest edge. For example, A2 is half the size of A1, and A1 is half the size of A0.
For comparison, here's how the DIN sizes compare to familiar U.S. paper sizes:
DIN Size | Dimensions (mm) | Dimensions (inches) | Closest U.S. Size | Supported |
---|---|---|---|---|
A0 | 841 x 1189 | 33.1 x 46.8 | Larger than ANSI E | ❌ |
A1 | 594 x 841 | 23.4 x 33.1 | Close to ANSI D | ❌ |
A2 | 420 x 594 | 16.5 x 23.4 | Between ANSI C and D | ✅ |
A3 | 297 x 420 | 11.7 x 16.5 | Close to ANSI B | ✅ |
A4 | 210 x 297 | 8.3 x 11.7 | Close to U.S. Letter | ✅ |
As shown above, A2 and smaller paper sizes are supported. Drawings larger than A2 will not be processed.
